About the project
With inequalities on the rise, we need to focus more on climate impacts on communities most vulnerable to climate change to create just green policies based on equity. For example, we already see a disproportionate distribution of greenery throughout cities. The districts with lower income households are less green, often correlating with a lower health index.
Our project aims at providing communities most affected by climate crisis better access to policy instruments, through:
- A better alignment between socio-economic data and physical data to ensure that equity is at the core of our policy
- A better alignment between system world of policy makers and social environment of communities most vulnerable to climate change to ensure that expertise by experience is weighed in as heavily as scientific data in our policies
- A more inclusive process of designing and implementing climate policy interventions with the meaningful engagement of communities most vulnerable to climate crisis
