Local revitalization strategies for attractive, sustainable and inclusive cities

Local revitalization strategies are a basic tool for integrating interventions at the local level for improving the liveability and quality of life in a community with wide stakeholder participation and environmental care. However, too often these documents are not based on a genuine dialogue with the civil society, they lack a realistic approach and don´t get implemented. Also, public authorities themselves often lack capacities to lead revitalisation processes in the cities following the new paradigm of more beautiful, sustainable and inclusive cities. The lack of funding is another limitation that has to be taken into account while planning the implementation of revitalisation strategies. The project is willing to offer a broad view on revitalisation challenges in European cities in order to identify good practices, share knowledge, test new approaches and ultimately improve local revitalisation strategies.
