About the project
The MARINEWISE project aims to combat marine litter across Europe, addressing threats to marine ecosystems, coastal economies, and public health, with plastic waste as a major concern. By developing circular economy strategies, engaging communities, strengthening policies, and fostering interregional collaboration, the project seeks to reduce marine litter.
Objectives include creating circular solutions, boosting community involvement, improving policy frameworks, and promoting interregional collaboration.
Work packages focus on research, community engagement, policy advocacy, cooperation, and monitoring. Aligned with "Greener Europe" priorities, MARINEWISE targets the ERDF
Operational Programme for Investment in Jobs and Growth 2021-2027. All partners are eligible entities, fostering diverse experiences and practices sharing beyond transnational cooperation. Demonstrating innovation through circular economy integration, technology leverage, and community-led initiatives.
