About the project
Cities and localities, which are largely made up of historic or obsolete structures that cannot be used in an urban form without extensive modifications, are in a difficult situation. The extensive historical heritage can be a problem for these places, the solution of which is far beyond the capacity, knowledge and financial capabilities of local authorities.
The project will focus mainly on the revitalisation of historic settlements and will take the form of a series of thematic workshops. Each of the workshops will focus on one of these areas: The social dimension, Urban planning and architecture, Landscape, Culture, Transport, Technology, Politics and Law.
The project will lead to the creation of material comprehensively addressing the issue of development and revitalization of dysfunctional historical settlements. This material will include knowledge from all professions and sectors important for the development and functioning of urbanized areas.
Partners we are looking for
Project partners will be selected on the basis of their knowledge, experience and track record in these areas. Each workshop will culminate in the production of a document that will include the insights of all participants on the area, including procedures and methods that emerged from the joint discussions and on which the vast majority of participants will agree.
