About the project
In Europe, there are more than 600 cars per 1000 residents. Modern cars are becoming increasingly powerful and faster. Undoubtedly, this leads to an increase in the number of accidents and, consequently, injuries and fatalities.
Improvements in car design should lead to improvements in driver, passenger, and pedestrian safety systems. We propose a combined safety system for automotive transportation, consisting of pedestrian safety and vehicle safety systems.
Both systems are intelligent. The pedestrian safety system includes several scanner sensors that work with the car's main computer. The system operates according to a certain algorithm. In the event of a dangerous situation the system decides on the inevitability of the collision with the pedestrian. At the same time, an inflatable airbag is deployed from the front bumper using a pyrotechnic device, which is intended to prevent the pedestrian's head from striking the hood or windshield of the car.
