About the project
According to Paris Agreement, EU member states are committed to making the EU climate-neutral by 2050. In order to achieve these goals, in harmony with The European Green Deal, the transport sector which accounts for one quarter of EU greenhouse gas emissions needs to be subjected to a significant transformation to result in a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
To create a genuinely intelligent transportation system, it is necessary to efficiently tackle the mobility capacity allocation and traffic management. This approach is vital for mitigating the risks of urban capacity constraints and reducing the CO2 emissions, while enhancing safety, boosting accessibility and promoting sustainability.
Smart mobility is needed to address congestion pain-points, pollution and urbanisation pressure. The Smart mobility development has the potential to integrate each mode of transport into a unified operating network across the whole transportation ecosystem.
