About the project
Developing and promoting ‘Smart Tourism’ (EU) with digital tools, products and services; sustainable development of the local area; and support to creative industries, local talent and heritage. Related to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, with digitalisation in sustainable cultural tourism development and promotion. Using digital technologies to enhance all aspects of the tourism experience, enabling sustainability and helping local businesses to grow. Relevant aspects are about protecting and capitalising on the cultural heritage and local potential of its creative assets for the benefit of the tourist destination, the industry and the visitors. The above lead towards 'Smart Destinations' (UNWTO), which are related to the next generation of cultural tourism development and promotion. A smart destination is one with a strategy for technology, innovation, sustainability, accessibility and inclusivity along the entire tourism cycle: before, during and after the trip.
