About the project
The urge of a green and fair energy transition poses a major challenge to our societies and systems of government. Energy transition lies at the root of the European Green Deal, and the double challenge is to decarbonise the economy and revert climate change while keeping the essentials of our way of life and our industrial competitiveness. In order to properly tune public energy policies to different national and regional peculiarities, key aspects such as renewable energies, energy storage and materials, energy economics, consumption-recycling and industrial technology renewal rates are needed, as well as the development of appropriate quantitative indicators for the energy transition and industrial competitiveness in European regions. The SPERTUS project adopts an interdisciplinary holistic approach to address these challenges, developing a methodology based on key indicators of activity and industrial tissue renewal for governments and policymakers.
