Sustainable development strategies: local food as key for rural development

The project will map, collect best practices from Geoparks and Region across Europe for developing specific methodologies able to increase the knowledge and importance of local food resources in connection with sustainable and conservation strategies. Where possible the GEOfood initiative will be straighten and implemented in the methodology with the development of specific tools as market -impacts research concerning local food consumption, smart innovative solution for monitoring the performance of local SME´s in the development of local food initiative.

ISSUE: Lack of common non-urban development practices across rural areas centred on local food consumption and short food chain solutions for empowering local SME´S and become a powerful resource for tourism, job development safeguarding nature

OBJECTIVE: design and put into effect policy measures and regulations concerning sustainable strategies within natural and cultural empowerment of local communities.
