About the project
COVID has emphasized the need to rethink the way people travel, consume and socialize, in particular in peripheral areas where access to social and economic services is not always effective. Through enhancement of local services and promotion people-centered solutions to mobility and public spaces regeneration, the project will develop innovative solutions to rethink the role of peripheral areas as places of community regeneration and social-economic innovation.
Improve the role of proximity services in peripheries (e.g. retailers, shops, economic activities) as multi-functional actors able to generate social, environmental, economic value
Improve the social dimension of soft mobility measures (walkability & cyclability) as tools to rebuild the social fabric in peripheral areas, rediscover local places and restore people’s centrality in public spaces
Find sustainable solutions to improve the connections between central-peripheral areas to enable an equal access to basic services.
