About the project
The period 2024-2030 is crucial for European areas as they recalibrate targets and rethink operations, necessitating robust policy support. While Europe faces this unprecedented task of achieving a carbon-neutral economy within a short timeframe, climate neutrality policy instruments need to re-address the new economic, environmental and societal challenges. SMARTFORM focuses on enhancing research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies to support towards the joint goal of climate neutrality. Inspired by the EU mission on climate-neutral and smart cities, it fosters the exchange of experiences and the adoption of smart tools and innovative practices, empowering local stakeholders to participate in the green and digital transformation.SMARTFORM's partnership, with strong will to support new countries, includes an advisory partner from the research community with net-zero transition expertise and cities of various levels of climate neutrality maturity(7 areas).Â
