About the project
The modern construction industry primarily produces bituminous products mainly from crude oil. Rising oil demand results in permanent price increases, driving up construction material costs.
In the EU territories, more than 12 million tons of used wooden railway sleepers, utility poles, treated with creosote, are stored. It is impossible to use them as fuel or construction materials due to the high toxicity, storing them is expensive and leads to environmental consequences.
We have developed a technology for processing these used wooden materials and creosote, the by-product in coke production. The processing products of wooden waste are wood chips, washed from creosote, and creosote. Wood chips can be used in the production of construction materials or fuel briquettes. Creosote extracted from wooden waste can be used to obtain resin, which is a cheap alternative to bitumen, with the cost of processing products being minimal or negative if the state pays for the disposal of such waste.
