About the project
The production of energy from such facilities has not been of particular importance until now for the protection of nature and for the use of lands, since solar cells are installed on roofs. What can be observed here is an effect that will gain in importance, because the habitat for flora and fauna is increasingly being destroyed by, among other things, the agricultural and industrial use of the available land. As a result the preservation of biodiversity is becoming ever more important. The main goal of the project is to define a range of impacts of such facilities on the local environment is emerging, including changes to soils (carbon cycling, soil microbial community composition and soil moisture) and vegetation (plant productivity and above ground biomass), of which the effects on biodiversity are poorly resolved, opportunities to enhance biodiversity in PV parks.
Partners we are looking for
I am looking for partners (high educations, research institutions, NGO) across Europe interested in protecting and promote biodiversity in wind parks and PV parks with a particular propensity on communication and dissemination.
