About the project
Our Provincial Training Centre for Agriculture and Rurality (CPFAR) is working with its partners (project Interreg Euregio Meuse-Rhine « EMRWine » https://emrwine.eu/en/) on the development of a cross-border network for the sectors of production and training in winegrowing. Based on this project’s outcomes, CPFAR is interested in joining an Interreg Europe consortium with regions facing the challenge of climate change adaptation.
Global warming raises a series of questions and opens up opportunities for the development of vineyards in emerging countries (Sweden, Denmark or Slovakia) but also Spain, France, Italy, Hungary or the Czech Republic.
Specific needs: resilience of hybrid and interspecific grape varieties, fight against new pests.
POSSIBLE POLICY INSTRUMENT TO IMPROVE: specific measure of Wallonia’s regional Recovery Plan.
POSSIBLE TOPICs: agroecological impact, new pests (the Suzuki drosophila, the devil bug), study of auxiliary insects to combat these pests, training needs
