Wolin,
Poland
To participate we invited the representatives and community leaders of municipalities that have been defined as priorities in the project area. Municipalities of Kamień Pomorski, Wolin, Międzyzdroje and Dziwnów encounter the problems of the last mile in public transport every day, and at the same time, while municipalities are placed in the tourist impact area of the Baltic coast, they perfectly understand its development potential. The meeting was attended by mayors and representative authorities of listed municipalities:
Kamień Pomorski, Wolin, Międzyzdroje and Dziwnów.
After the presentation part indicating possible directions of municipalities cooperation in the project, presented by employees of RBGPWZ (PP7), an open part of the discussion and workshop took place, in which were discussed the issues of current conditions and challenges faced by the individual municipalities. The main part of the discussion concerned the transport policies of the region, especially in the context of the latest law amendment on the public transport, but also referred to the procedures relating to public procurement, collaboration with the private sector and the need for cooperation above the borders of individual municipalities. The meeting ended with a unanimous declaration of all of the representatives of invited municipalities,
that there is a strong desire for further cooperation, which will be formalized in the form of a letter of intent. As part of active participation in the LAST MILE project all municipalities
will officially delegate their representatives to work directly with the Regional Office for Spatial Planning of Westpomeranian Voivodeship.
