Organised in Brussels, on the 11-13 October 2016, the 14th European Week of Regions and Cities will focus on the challenges currently facing Europe's regions and cities. ARITT Centre, as coordinator of the Beyond EDP project is going to give its testimony during two sessions:
[09:00-13:00] Efficient and effective use of ESI Funds: regional best practices
The success of ESIF largely depends on good governance and effective implementation. Part two will ask whether RIS3 can enable regions to exploit synergies between funds and enable smart specialisation, thus increasing the impact of ESIF. The aim is to show how regional good practices could contribute to the more effective use of ESIF while also discussing ways of making implementation more efficient.
Venue: Representation of Saxony-Anhalt to the EU
[14:30-17:00] Policy learning lab: practical approaches for smart and sustainable region
Interreg Europe is setting up Policy Learning Platforms: communities of like-minded policymakers, practitioners and experts working to improve structural funds and other policies. This interactive session will provide insight into the topics covered by platforms - Research and innovation, SME competitiveness, Low-carbon economy and Environment & resource efficiency
Venue: Committee of the Regions, Jacques Delors, Atrium 5
In these presentations, the Beyond EDP project coordinator will emphasise the role of the stakeholder’s involvement in the design and implementation of the RIS3 to manage effectively this public policy.
