The HA Hessen Agentur carries out the EU project Firespol on behalf of the Hessian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Housing. After successful meetings in the partner regions in Spain, Poland, Croatia and Ireland, the 5th Interregional Event in Hesse, Germany is already in October.
On 15th and 16th October 2019, the project partners will be traveling with their stakeholders in Hesse to work together on suitable financing instruments for renewable energies in the respective regions.
On the first day, as usual, the event starts with the Steering Committee Meeting for the partners in the narrow project circle. This is about the technical implementation of the projects, the current status and the next upcoming steps. HA invites the project partner to their office in Wiesbaden. At the joint lunch in the Hessian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy, Transport and Housing, the European and German stakeholders will join us. At the Interregional Learning Workshop, State Secretary Jens Deutschendorf will welcome the guests with an introduction to energy and support policy in Hesse. Afterwards Prof. Knodt from the TU Darmstadt will present the results of her research on the financing of renewable energies in Hesse and beyond. This is followed by a short presentation of all project partners on the first points of contact or ideas for action that each region was able to derive from the Firespol project so far. These ideas are discussed and developed in the stakeholder circle. Also, the dinner in Wiesbaden invites to further discussions.
The second day starts with a bus ride from Wiesbaden to Weilrod with a hydrogen bus. In Weilrod, the group is expecting to visit an energy trail in the “ABO Wind” wind farm. With a short stopover for lunch, we continue to Frankfurt. At the Social Impact Lab some short presentations by Hessian initiatives, organizations and start-ups in the field of financing and renewable energies will follow. Before dinner, a highlight tour of Frankfurt's city history takes place. The conclusion is the joint dinner in the traditional district "Sachsenhausen", before it goes back to Wiesbaden.
Project partners and their stakeholders from six European countries (Spain, Croatia, Poland, Latvia, Germany and Ireland) will take part in the Interregional Event.
The FIRESPOL project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Interreg Europe Programme.
