Innocastle at Beyond the Obvious Conference

Beyond the Obvious is Culture Action Europe's annual flagship event, which addresses cultural practices in non-urban territories, bringing together European projects in a 4-day event. It takes place in two areas at the Swiss-German border.


Innocastle will be present at this year's edition of Beyond the Obvious, and will have a stand at the Culture Crops Agora, an informal forum showcasing local and European projects acting within the non-urban territories. Innocastle addresses the historic castles, manors and estates and the relationships they have with the (mostly) rural environments in which they can be found. These assets have the potential to stimulate rural and regional development and innovation. However, this requires a shift of paradigm in governance and support. By developing new policy instruments to unlock these assets, historic estates could act as drivers for job creation, better education, improving life quality and reducing social inequalities.
