The stakeholders during the event were 20, to underline among them the presence of the president of the Association “Molise Orientale”, the key subject entitled for Molise Region to manage the coastal landscape and to improve all the activities connected. Another important presence was due to the fact that several private economic operator of accommodation facilities came to the meeting and some representatives from coastal municipalities of Molise also showed their interest.
The meeting was centred around the interest of stakeholder in Molise coastal area, their needs, their possible contributions and the focus of HERICOAST project and its interventions. There is currently no public-private partnership (PPP) structure in the landscape management in Molise Region intervention plans. Bringing the key stakeholders together and support in setting up a PPP that will address to specific issues.
Among the conclusions, the public asked:
what are the main obstacles, challenges to achieving this vision?
To implement specific interventions means facing the challenge of balancing social, economic and ecological interests.
This requires a clear business case for each of the stakeholders, plus long-term commitment around a shared vision for sustainable development of the landscape.
In the next future and in the framework of the HERICOAST project, molise Region will organize a multi-stakeholder meeting to determine the draft governance structure of the landscape coalition, identify the first pilots and start with the long-term intervention plan for the landscape.
