Third International Training Workshop in Ljubljana, Slovenia
As part of the atWork4NEETs project, the Employment Service of Slovenia is organising a 2-day event in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 12 – 13 November 2024. This event aims to engage local and international stakeholders in a debate on Training and Personalized Support to NEETs (young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training) participating in Activation Schemes.
The first day will begin with a keynote address by Veerle Miranda from the OECD. As the head of youth projects in the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs, she advises governments on the design and implementation of policy options to improve the school-to-work transitions of young people in OECD countries. Her presentation will focus on creating better opportunities for youth, including NEETs.
Next, there will be two expert panel discussions focusing on interesting topics related to NEETs. Both panels will host international speakers. The first panel will address Challenges in Providing Personalized Support to NEETs, while the second will discuss Training and Cooperation with Generation Z. Both panels will feature graphic facilitation to enhance understanding and engagement.
In the afternoon session, attendees will be able to participate in interactive presentations of all the good practices on the topic of Training and Personalized Support to NEETs participating in Activation Schemes. They will engage directly with practice owners and discuss the potential of implementing these practices to their national perspectives.
Second day will begin with a study visit to Društvo za razvoj odgovornosti Škatelc, association, where participants will learn about Project Learning for Young Adults (PLYA). This will provide valuable insights directly from both mentors and NEET participants.
Afterward, a two-part creative workshop titled Unleashing Creativity for Defining KPIs and Future Cooperation on the Topic of NEETs will take place. Project partners will engage in creative thinking and clay art to define future cooperation and key project indicators. The session will provide time to reflect on the good practices collected so far and how to apply them in national contexts.
Stay tuned for further updates on the atWork4NEETs website, where we will soon share visual maps produced during the 2-day event, as well as all presentations. The first stakeholders’ meeting of atWork4NEETs in Ljubljana will pave the way for selecting the best practices on Training and Personalized Support to NEETs, which will be presented through a public webinar in February 2025.
