According to Eurostat, Austria's 5% use of artificial intelligence is below the EU average of 7% in an EU-wide comparison and far behind AI leaders such as Ireland (23%), Malta (19%) and Finland (12%). The reasons for this are a lack of know-how and high costs for initial deployment. It would be important here to transfer knowledge on the topics of safe and responsible use of AI in the economy as well as AI regulations and AI certifications, which are also the goals of the Artificial Intelligence Act of the European Commission. In theory, there are already constantly evolving approaches and guidelines in this regard, but practical implementation is a considerable challenge for many companies.
