Bio

Medieval archaeologist specialised in urban archaeology. Studied in Freiburg i.Br. and Hamburg, doctorate in Freiburg (Waste disposal in the Middle Ages) Excavations in Baden-Württemberg and Saxony, over 20 years district archaeologist in Thuringia.

Coordinater of the work on the Erfurt Treasure, excavation of the Erfurt mikveh, medieval Jewish cemetery and community bakery.

Since 2020 World Heritage Officer, Site Manager of the World Heritage Site since 2023
