This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
Relevant stakeholders in the regional Tourism ecosystems usually state that they do not have easy access to technology innovations, since it's not in their daily focus. But they are aware that they do need to incorporate those innovation to their business. Regarding AR/VR, this is even more difficukt, since it's almost impossible for them to be on the State of the Art of innovations using those cutting edge technologies.
For solving the aforementioned concerns of the Tourism ecosystem, this capabilities of the DIHs may be really useful:
- Access to innovation (at European level) is a key issue for regional SMEs. The idea of DIH as 'one stop shop' for regional SMEs access to technological knowledge at European level (via European network of DIHs) is the goal of Aragon DIH.
- DIHs services are not only technological ones (with the 'test before invest' paradigm) but we also provide skills improvement (training) and access to financial resources.
- Main stakeholders are the 3 promoters of the initiative, the main public regional actors in the innovation ecosystem: ITAINNOVA (Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón); IAF (Instituto Aragonés de Fomento); University of Zaragoza; Besides, we have +40 members including Research Institutions, SMEs, Cluasters, Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations among others.

Potential for learning or transfer
Aragon DIH practices are connecting offer and demand in technology in several sectors, enabling SMEs to access the innovation skills and resources for acting in local level and impacting in European and global level.
Some specifc details of our experience can be tranferred to other regions:
- Way of starting a regional DIH counting on relevant stakeholders for the regional focus (for instance, Tourism & technology).
- Reaching real needs of the tourism ecosystem by co-working with innovation providers.
- Real applications of AR/VR to the touristic industry
