This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
The project started in September 2020 and will last until the end of August 2022. 160 students will participate in total.
Students will take part in the classes preparing for the qualification exam for the operation of equipment, installations and networks as well as for the Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification exam.
The project also involves the implementation of an educational platform based on virtual reality VR to learn professional foreign language (English and German). The learning will be based on the virtual repair of different types of damaged components and subassemblies of the production line with particular emphasis on communication in a foreign language: dialogues, naming of subassemblies and line elements, issuing commands, responding to threats.
Moreover, the program also includes specialized classes in the area of Lean Manufacturing and design and installation of industrial installations.
The program also includes 150 hours of internship classes for each participant of the project, conducted with employers. The internships will prepare students to perform professional tasks in a working environment. Project participants will become familiar with new technologies and the specificity of automation and robotics technicians. The internships will take place, among others, in enterprises: Ceramika Tubądzin Sp. z o. o., Miele Technika Sp. z o. o. and Delia Cosmetics Distribution Sp. z o. o.

Potential for learning or transfer
Staff competence is one of the key aspects determining the success of implementations in the area of Industry 4.0. Due to the dynamically changing realities on the labour market, all forms of extracurricular education, whose program is adapted to current trends, are extremely important.
In the case of the project "Competence for Industry 4.0" an additional value is the significant involvement of the companies cooperating with the Automation and Robotics Technology both in the development of the training program and also in the organization of internships for students.
Moreover, courses within the project will be conducted by teachers from the Lodz University of Technology
The above practice can be implemented everywhere.
