HIPÂ project
About this good practice
The aging of the population and home care are national priorities. The key issue is to anticipate and prevent the loss of autonomy at the earliest, in order to avoid or delay hospitalizations.
In August 2017, thanks to a call for projects, a collaboration between Clubster Santé and La Vie Active has led to the emergence of the HIPÂ.
HIPÂ is a “living lab”, located in Marles-les-Mines, a small city in France (12,000 inhabitants and relatively elderly population).
HIPÂ is upgradeable and is designed to continually accommodate new products, to increase the awareness of the elderly.
HIPÂ is equipped with products and technologies from companies. This place of innovation allows to experiment and tests products.
HIPÂ is a place of information and experimentation. Indeed, it is open to the public: elderly people, family carers, medico-social professionals, social landlords, local authorities, etc.
Also, co-creation workshops are organized to allow meetings between users and companies.
Visits of HYPA are organized by Clusbter Santé, but people can also ask to visit the place when it is not open. The visits are totally free.
Project management : Clusbter Santé manages the relationship with the companies for the equipment of HIPÂ and participates in the animation of HIPÂ. They also transmit to companies the feedbacks of the visits.
Finally, they communicate a lot on the project (support web and print, press, etc.)
Resources needed
This project was funded by:
•The Pas-de-Calais Department
•CARSAT (Pension and Occupational Health Insurance Fund)
•AG2R, financial and strategic support
Expenses include :
- Project management (a 50% project manager from Clubster Santé, 4 animators)
- Products from 35 companies
Evidence of success
HIPÂ was inaugurated on June 8, 2018, in the presence of various partners. 56 health and medico-social professionals and institutional were able to discover this place during its inauguration.
Since, visits have been organized; a total of 156 people visited HIPÂ.
We also note a strong involvement of companies : 35 companies have participated in this project and there are about fifty equipment in the apartment. Other products will be presented in the apartment in 2019.
Potential for learning or transfer
The aging of the population and home care have been placed as national priorities since the law on adaptation of society to aging in 2015. The challenge is to anticipate and prevent the loss of autonomy. HYPA corresponds to the national expectations because the elderly can discover the solutions allowing them to stay at home. This project is therefore part of a policy of home support but also participates in the promotion of the territory in terms of innovation.
The apartment is also the result of an unprecedented collaboration between the medico-social sector and businesses. This innovative place is based on strong involvement of companies from the Hauts-de-France region. In total, there are 35 companies that participate in the project and equipped this apartment.
This project seems advantageous to them because they are invited to make visits, to organize meetings with their customers and their prospects and to set up demonstrations.
