Industry 4.0 Contact Point (ICP)
About this good practice
The Industry Contact Point (ICP) supports Polish entities in applying for EU funds under the Horizon Europe framework programme. It pursues this goal by:
- organizing and participating in nationwide matchmaking, networking and brokerage events aimed at domestic and foreign scientific and business partners,
- providing assistance in selecting and attracting international partners for European projects,
- organization of trainings and workshops for those interested in the Horizon Europe program
- conducting individual consultations for interested parties.
Recipients of the ICP’s activities are Polish entities (including entrepreneurs and research units) and indirectly international entities looking for partners from Poland.
Industry Contact Point Industry 4.0, through promotion of Horizon Europe and activities indicated above, reaches out to entities interested in obtaining international contacts in R&D and participation in the programme.
Resources needed
The ICP, on demand, has at its disposal a number of experts from Łukasiewicz - PIAP on Horizon Europe and, if the need arises, has a database of international experts working with ICP.
Evidence of success
Thanks to the activities of the ICP in 2022-24, it has been possible to raise the knowledge of Polish entities on Horizon Europe and to connect more than a dozen Polish entities with emerging international consortia applying for EU funds. Since its inception, the ICP has conducted more than 200 individual consultations with entrepreneurs.
Potential for learning or transfer
Conducting an extensive promotion and communication campaign about Horizon Europe by entities such as Industry Contact Points, National Contact Point, and Horizon Contact Points will increase awareness of the benefits associated with participation in the HE Framework Programme.
The benefits of the establishment of such contact points include mapping of industry players, building awareness of EU programmes, increasing international cooperation in R&D.
