During the covid 19 pandemic increased online sales, because of this increased number of deliveries and kilometres that delivery man needs to cover each day. Door to door delivery is fuel-consuming, customers are required to stay at home waiting for delivery man, this is both not eco-friendly and inconvenient. By delivering parcels to centralised pickup points like APMs, which are located in high traffic areas, we are reducing traffic congestion and associated emissions from idling vehicles, compared to door-to- door delivery. In Poland over 59% of the population is within 7 minutes’ walk from an APM, with that number going up to 85% in urban areas. To pick up a package from APM person only needs telephone number paced during order and six-digit code sent via email or SMS on the same number. Other way of opening the box is to scan QR code sent via email with 6-digit code. Fact that APM are fully automated means that you can use it in any hour of the day and night. It does not matter that it is one am. in the morning because all you need is code which you enter on the touchscreen placed on AMP.There is also dedicated application where all informations about your parcels are available.
