About this good practice
Lithuanian Engineering Industries Association (LINPRA) is an independent business organisation that represents metal products, machinery and equipment, electromechanics and electronic, plastics and rubber industry companies’ interests on the international and national level.
The association also highly encourages companies to take advantage of the new industrial revolution “Industry 4.0”, and ensures the most effective use of new technologies, by taking into account the opportunities offered by digitisation and the other EU Member States.
Currently, the association has 111 companies operating in 14 different sectors, including “Manufacture of vehicles, trailers, semi-trailers” and other related to automotive value chains.
LINPRA goal is to increase business competitiveness and internationalisation, improve export of products and services, increase synergies between scientists and engineers activities. LINPRA also takes part in improving the quality of Vocational education and training in Lithuania.

The association employs 9 people. The organization finances its own activities by collecting its members fee and participating in various national and international projects.

Association includes 6 companies, operating in the sector “Manufacture of vehicles, trailers, semi-trailers” and also a variety of companies that operate under other economic activities, but are also involved in the transport and mobility-related value chains.
Potential for learning or transfer
Targeted business support and promotion organizations have a big impact on the development of targeted companies. Various lobbying activities and business representation in various formats are important for the successful business development. LINPRA not only represents its members at national but also at international levels. Organizations has a goal to make its members recognizable in the world as a modern and reliable partner. To do so, in the short-term information and assistance by LINPRA is provided to its members on export promotion, skills developments, productivity and progress questions. In the long-term, LINPRA on behalf of all members, strive for a better business environment, a more favourable education system, promotes the development of exports, synergies between R&D institutions and business enterprises, etc
