About this good practice
The Entrepreneur Information Portal, originally created by the government to address pandemic economic challenges, now operates as a free business development service. It offers SMEs numerous services funded by EU or domestic projects, including mentoring, advice, and training at every stage—from business planning to international expansion and generational transitions. These focused subsidies aim to support growth, tackle challenges, and aid recovery.
Developed under project GINOP-1.1.3-16, "Modern Sample Plant Program I," the portal promotes organizational renewal and technological transformation for Hungarian micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), enhancing competitiveness and fostering an adaptive entrepreneurial culture.
The platform provides permanent services, including ESG education, helping businesses reduce their environmental impact, increase social responsibility, and improve management practices. It also supports ESG consulting accreditation for educational institutions and offers programs to equip companies with ESG-based strategies for future success.
Resources needed
The portal was implemented within the framework of the special project code number GINOP-1.1.3-16 entitled "Modern Sample Plant Program I. - Renewal of the business processes of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and revitalization of digital and automation developments".
Evidence of success
In the first three month 4000 businesses became users and thus could use the full range of services. The site's success is proven by the fact that 8,000 businesses have already registered for personalized information by March 2022.
Potential for learning or transfer
The platform called “Vali” is a comprehensive and free portal for SMEs and businesses which might be a good example for the other EU regions looking to expand their information channels to support the implementation and awareness raising of CDR. It is a good example how to provide adequate information, at the same time possible learning materials and free consultacy. The numbers of users speak for it’s success. The platform is simple, user-friendly and it’s easy to navigate.
