About this good practice
The four UNESCO sites, which are unique in the world, have been united in the marketing network “Luther | Bauhaus | Garden Kingdom” since 2004. This has created an incomparable tourist co-operation, which enables tourists to experience the great variety of offers in the region.
With the World Heritage Card, you will receive a travel guide with your map. In this guide, you will find detailed information on all the services you can use with the World Heritage Card. You will also learn more about the cities and sites in the World Heritage Region and receive many valuable tips for your stay.
There are two World Heritage Card variants: 24-hour card (19,90 EUR) or 3-day card (39,99 EUR). For both variants, there is an adult and a children's card (for children from 5 - 14 years).
In spring 2020, an existing bus line was upgraded to the "World Heritage Line". World Heritage Bus is available for both tourists and residents and leaves hourly.
The combination of many points of interest fosters the tourists’ prolongation of stay in the region and strengthens rural tourism.
The card and the bus present an outstanding selection of material and immaterial heritage, combing both culture and nature.
Furthermore, both practices encourage visitors to travel in a more sustainable manner: people can explore the World Heritage Region by bike, by foot or on the waters.
The bus offers joint environmentally friendly travelling instead of individual travelling by many single cars.
