The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a creative and interdisciplinary initiative that connects the European Green Deal to our living spaces and experiences.

On 30 March DG REGIO is launching a competitive call to implement the New European Bauhaus. This call is targeting small and medium-sized local authorities with inspiring project proposals that foster the three complementary values of the New European Bauhaus: Sustainability, Aesthetics and Inclusion.

20 place-based project proposals from the EU will receive in-kind support from a group of interdisciplinary experts to facilitate the uptake of New European Bauhaus elements and advance towards implementation in the following four action areas:

  • Renovation of existing buildings and public spaces in a spirit of circularity and carbon neutrality;
  • Preservation and transformation of cultural heritage;
  • Adaptation and transformation of buildings for affordable housing solutions;
  • Regeneration of urban or rural spaces.
