Policy Learning Platform highlights programme experience on advancing waste management

On 2 May 2024, Avfall Norge, the association representing waste management agencies, public bodies, and companies in Norway, organised an information webinar aimed at introducing the Policy Learning Platform to Norwegian stakeholders. Elena Ferrario, Thematic Manager at Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform, and Magda Michaliková, Thematic Expert for a Greener Europe, were invited to share good practices and experiences from Interreg Europe.

The tailor-made webinar targeted waste management organisations and local public administrations within the Avfall Norge network. It was designed to provide valuable insights into the resources available through the Policy Learning Platform, fostering better waste management practices across Norway.

Elena Ferrario, kicked off the session by presenting an overview of Interreg Europe and the Platform. She explained the platform's core functionalities, including the knowledge hub, good practices database, and expert support services.

Following Elena's presentation, Magda Michaliková, Thematic Expert, shared several compelling examples of past and upcoming peer reviews. These reviews highlighted best practices and innovative approaches in various areas of waste management and circular economy, including:

 

This webinar exemplified Avfall Norge's commitment to enhancing waste management practices through knowledge sharing and collaboration. It concluded with Anne Stine Hovland, Senior Advisor at the County of Vestland, who shared her experience with the peer review process.
