Expert opinion
Prizes that recognise positive environmental behaviour by companies are a very useful tool as they encourage managers to engage in practices that protect the environment and reward them for it in fiancial terms but also by giving them public visibility and potentially a label as prize-winner. This good practice from the Alentejo is a good example of the appication of such prizes. It is easy to implement and easy to replication in other regional of local contexts.
