About this good practice
The owner of the Good Practice in 2007 realized that there is a strong demand for sport facilities which can be used by anyone, at any age, 24 hours a day, in public spaces and for free of charge. After the first selling, they started to develop their own tools and now they have been producing the fitness parks in Debrecen since 2017. In order to reach their goals, i.e.to bring people closer to a healthy, athletic lifestyle, they sell the taylor-made parks for public institutions, like municipalities, public schools. The other goal was that even in small villages, people do sports outside and free of charge as well. Usually small villages cannot afford an investment like this, therefore, the company started to negotiate with the government to give financial support for municipalities to buy outdoor sport facilities, so municipalities can apply for funding.
In 2018 the company started to develop their football specific tool, which helps football clubs to improve their players’ specific skills and it also can be used for rehabilitation purposes. Football clubs from over Europe, and from the USA, even major football clubs are interested in buying such an equipment.

Resources needed
Both parts of GP funded by Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme. Fitness Park received 165 000 EUR grant combined with the same amount of own resources. Football specific equipment received 2.8 million EUR funds combined with loan and own resources (45%).
Evidence of success
This project shows how an SME working on sport innovation is able to be successful while they support public goals via selling their innovative products to public institutions. They sold more than 300 fitness parks in Hungary and they are represented in few EU countries as well. During Covid19 pandemic they adapted to the situation and started to produce fitness parks for home usage.
Potential for learning or transfer
The Good Practice can be interesting for other regions in two ways:
1. An SME working on sport innovation can serve the common good and public goals while they make profit.
2. Due to the severe situation of Covid19 pandemic they started to adapt to the altered economic situation. They developed an outdoor fitness park for home use in order people can continue their sport activity outside.
Transferable part is the method how they cooperate with the government or public institutions, like University of Debrecen, sports clubs and municipalities.
