This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
A current economic challenge is to apply into practice one of circular economy' principles, in terms of offering product as service. For customers it means to pay for certain functions or performances, avoiding risks and costs of ownership.
A good practice on ”Product as service” is the ”Managed Print Services” Program developed by ONE-IT, a Romanian company from Maramures – Baia Mare.
The total costs of a company or public body for printing activities can reach up to 15% of total expenses. Large investments and immobilization of money in modern equipment represent big challenges for companies and institutions, but the process of printing, scanning, copying or faxing is more difficult if old equipment and/or poorly configured software are used. In addition, the long time spent by employees on printing tasks can be frustrating.
Implementing the ”Managed Printing Services” solution of ONE-IT, an economic agent or a local authority can outsource the printing activities, thus saving up to 30% of the initial costs of printing.
The printing equipment with consumables included is offered as a service, based on a rental contract. The client pays a monthly subscription and an amount related to the number of printed pages/month. Due to these products offered as services, staff have more time to focus on strategic activities and not on interventions, repairs or placing orders for consumables. The beneficiaries are legal entities, including public bodies, as well as individuals.

Resources needed
Financial resources are required for buying the necessary equipment to be included in the Managed Printing Services (MPS) Program.
As human resources, it is necessary to have specialized technicians who can quickly solve the technical problems.

The factors of transferability are related to productivity, investment in equipment, security of printed data, environmental impact etc.
