About this good practice
Directorate Environment, in collaboration with ANCE Lombardia, implementing the contents of a Memorandum of Understanding (Dgr 6412 27/03/2017), are organizing several training events to be held between February and March in Lombardy Region to provide sector operators indications for an environmentally sustainable management of construction and demolition waste and for the use of recycled aggregates.
The training course will be addressed into different issues related to the construction and demolition waste supply chain, from production on site to the transfer to the treatment plant until the final use of the recovered material. The aim is to train all the various subjects involved in various capacities, from private planners to the public administration to favor the recovery of materials from this type of waste and consequently reduce the use of raw materials.
This kind of training is focused to "Operators in the sector, public administration, control bodies, Orders of architects and engineers who were awarded the training credit" in order to increase the awareness of reducing the amount of inert waste.

Potential for learning or transfer
This kind of policy could be transfer in other regions .
The use of recycled aggregates is environmentally favorable as it replaces the use of raw material of natural origin resulting from the mining activity that leads to soil consumption.
