About this good practice
Expansion and upgrading of a wastewater treatment plant in Crete (Heraklion city) by installing an ultra-filtration membrane system (Membrane Bioreactor - MBR) as well as UV system to achieve effluent quality that will allow irrigation of a variety of crops and urban areas, according to national legislation provisions. The main advantages of this practice are the utilization of water coming from the tertiary treatment of the WWTP as well as saving of drinking water.
