L'acquachebevo
About this good practice
The app offers users the opportunity to consult an interactive map with drinking water access points throughout the region, providing detailed reports on the analyses carried out, the ideal values of the parameters and any exceedances of the permitted limits. In addition, "L'Acquachebevo" offers information on the most recent measures, ensuring transparency and accessibility to data relating to the management and monitoring of regional water resources.
The importance of the app lies in the ability to transfer knowledge to citizens and safety in the use of the public drinking water distribution service.
The reduction of plastic in compliance with environmental standards is another important goal to be achieved through the dissemination of the app.
"L'Acquachebevo" is not limited to being an information tool, but also stands as a valuable ally in the fight against fake news on the subject of drinking water, offering a section dedicated to the verification and denial of unverified information.
This new application is an integral part of Auri Umbria's project "The way of water", created in collaboration with Arpa Umbria, which will also see the launch of 'Dany, Auri's droplet', an animated strip dedicated to fake news on water and sustainable consumption, a documentary on water in Umbria and the creation of a series of events and seminars throughout the region.

Potential for learning or transfer
Italy is the largest consumer of bottled water in Europe. Tap water in most parts of Italy is not only perfectly safe to drink, but it is also the fifth best in all of Europe in terms of overall quality after Austria, Sweden, Ireland and Hungary.
In Europe, it is estimated that there are about 75 million consumers of bottled water, of which 80 percent in the north of the continent prefer sparkling water. Italy leads many European countries in terms of bottled water consumption, but others are not far behind. After Italy, Germany ranks second with 167 liters per capita. Portugal follows with 140 liters per capita per year, then Hungary with 138.8 liters per capita and Spain with 135.4 liters. Overall, in Europe, the research found that 48 percent of non-alcoholic beverages consumed in the EU in 2022 consisted of packaged water.
The diffusion of the app in other countries could be achieved very simply replicating both the model and the contents.
