This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
La Masovera promotes the renovation of households or buildings or the construction of new ones putting in contact the homeowners and the users though a platform and providing them support for solving the barriers they usually have, such as the lack of economic and financial resources or affordable access to housing.
La Masovera puts in contact, through its platform, persons (who owns empty building/apartments or buildings/apartments where a renovation is needed and they cannot afford it) with people who are looking for renting a flat or apartment, so both gains. They manage this process in the form of a cooperative society. The owner participates in the cooperative offering the building, and the other members contribute with the money needed to renovate the building and maintaining it according to the new standards.
The stakeholders identified in this good practice are Architectural studios like Carpe Studio, ethical banking entities, university chairs specialized in alternative ways to access housing, federations and foundations related to cooperative housing, public administrations, social organizations… On the other hand, the main beneficiaries are people with difficulties in accessing affordable and decent housing, owners of empty building or apartments with economic limitations to rehabilitate them

Potential for learning or transfer
Make visible the building stock that is not available in the market because of the lack of resources of the owners or even because the owners don’t know what possibilities they have, is critical.
This situation is not exclusive of Valencia, it can be easily replicated in other cities.
It is important to involve existing cooperative foundations to show homeowners and new users that the model is currently working in other buildings
