This is the good practice's implementation level. It can be national, regional or local.
About this good practice
The activity is a sport competition, which is run by Poznan Science and Technology Park annually since 2018 with the support of Endomondo app (as Endomondo is not available any more the app will be changed in 2021).The idea of the action is promotion of the healthy lifestyle and sustainable mobility.
Poznan Science and Technology Park community is several hundred people, commuting to work from Poznan suburbs every day. In order to encourage active mobility among them adopted to different preferences two competition categories were proposed:
1. Cycling and mountain biking competition
2. Running, orienteering, walking, nordic walking and trail running.
Of course, the training had to be recorded using GPS technology.
It is season competition, lasting about 4 months between May and September.
The objective of the initiative is not only the stimulation of the spirit of sport competition and promoting a healthy lifestyle, but also to care for the environment. Poznan Science and Technology Park encourages employees and tenants to change their private car journey to work for a walk or a bicycle ride.
In each category, three best results are rewarded (number of km run).

Resources needed
There is little human resources needed (about 0,25 person-month each year) to coordinate the action plus small amounts for funding the awards.
Evidence of success
About 100 people take part in the competition each year. A significant number of them convert the journey to work by private car into a bicycle ride. Each participant is fighting for the best results, having a preview of the statistics on how others perform. Often not only "park" records are broken, but also personal. Many people started physical activity thanks to this initiative.
For example, in 2020, despite the pandemic, 75 people took part in: 37,000 km and burned 1,541,418 calories.

Potential for learning or transfer
The activity can be easily transferred to all EU regions, as it is not expensive or complicated (of course the cost of human resources can be a little bit higher depending on the number of participants of the competition). Regional and local authorities can organise such competition and also encourage local companies, public organisations and even schools to organise it.
