About this good practice
Ruptela Ltd was founded in 2007 with the vision to grow and excel in transport telematics by providing transport management solutions. Now the company has offices in 5 different countries and does business in 116 countries. Ruptela creates and provides high-quality full fleet management solutions based on GPS tracking, monitoring and control. In order to implement a large-scale R&D project with the goal to create a new fleet tracking and managing platform, company needed resources from the outside. As a result, it applied for the HORIZON 2020 funds.
Most Transport Management Systems (TMSs) do not provide an all-in-one solutions to answer SME business-related needs. As a result, the company developed a new integrated platform providing all the necessary information to transport SMEs. INTRANSYS uses fleet tracking and management platform TrustTrack as a foundation to integrate continuously updated traffic data, tracking services, rich communication with the driver, and eco-driving tools into a single cloud-based application. This platform allows transport companies to optimize operation on the go 24/7.

Resources needed
Total value of project is 1,7 million EUR, while 0,6 million EUR will be funded from ERDF.
Evidence of success
The company managed to develop hardware and software products required to develop the platform. Also, it managed to run product pilot and demo activities in real-life conditions. Newly produced product directly influences the driver’s behaviour and reduces fuel consumption thus contributing to the EC’s goal to reduce the impact of transport on climate and environment.
Potential for learning or transfer
The project was financed under the financial instrument HORIZON2020. HORIZON 2020 for the period of 2014-2020 was the biggest research and innovation programme in the EU with nearly 80 billion euro of funding available. In the upcoming MFF, HORIZON Europe programme will remain the main innovation funding initiative and as a result, transport-related companies will have an opportunity to use it and create new products to become more competitive
