Vademecum for the time of a pandemic
About this good practice
Practice “Vademecum for the time of a pandemic” is a response to the problem related to the large amount of information and dispersion of information on the available forms and mechanisms of support for SMEs in the fight against the effects of the pandemic. From 2020, over 60 different forms and mechanisms of support were launched by national, regional and local institutions.
Hence, the Małopolska Region has decided to launch a support team at the Małopolska Center for Entrepreneurship, where SMEs can obtain up-to-date, comprehensive knowledge about the available support mechanisms in connection with COVID-19, assistance in obtaining support, assistance in starting on-line communication with national and regional institutions, which is necessary to obtain a form of support.
The aim of the measure is to increase the capacity of Małopolska SMEs to use the government and local government support mechanisms regarding COVID-19.
This goal is achieved through: development and current update of the Vademecum for the time of the pandemic and establishment of the Enterprise Support Team in the Małopolska Center of Entrepreneurship, during a pandemic which runs an infopoint on an ongoing basis, provides consultations, conducts on-line information meetings, training sessions and webinars.
The main beneficiaries: SMEs, especially from rural and peripheral areas, who have limited digital skills, who require support in launching tools such as digital signature, digital public services
Resources needed
Human resources in regional institution, consultants, specialists
On-line working system
Evidence of success
The practice brings such effects as: current and comprehensive knowledge about current forms of SMEs support, strategic consultations - combining various forms of support, individualized consultation assistance, looking for synergies between various forms of support, selection of the most optimal forms for the beneficiaries. The effectiveness of the forms of support is evidenced by the following results: the need for webinars and training - 2-3 meetings per month, over 1000 consultations.
Potential for learning or transfer
InfoPoint and launching a support window for SMEs in which they can receive information about the current support mechanisms makes it easier for entrepreneurs to navigate through programs, projects and regulations and to use those mechanisms that are optimal for a given entrepreneur. The practice is not difficult to implement, it is built on the existing regional administrative recourses and human resources. On the one hand, it strengthens the quality of services provided by the regional entrepreneurship center and, on the other hand, provides a new service adapted to the current needs of entrepreneurs in COVID-19 time. The practice facilitates the synthesis of standard forms of SME support and Covid forms, which favors the sustainability of companies in times of pandemic and digital transformation.
