Advancing the Rural Pact: Fostering local action for the future of rural areas

Take part in our participatory lab at the European Week of Regions and Cities to explore inspiring initiatives that empower rural communities to achieve their ambitions, and will draw recommendations on the ways forward.

Coordinated by the Rural Pact Support Office, in partnership with the European Commission’s DG AGRI, DG REGIO, and the Interreg Europe Learning Platform, this 1.5 hrs session will:

• Raise awareness of the added value that the Rural Pact could bring to untap the potential of rural communities;
• Learn from local experiences and policy initiatives that empower rural communities to achieve their ambitions and contribute to the rural vision;
• Facilitate exchange to build practical recommendations to untap the potential of rural communities in the future.

The event will bring together 86 representatives of relevant local organisations and policymakers involved in the design and implementation of initiatives or policies with an impact on local rural communities.
