Enabling the renovation wave
The workshop has now ended. You can now acess the conclusions and the key learning on this follow-up article.
On 23 May 2024, the Policy Learning Platform is pleased to invite you to a workshop on enabling the renovation wave in Vienna, Austria!
What it will be about
In October 2020 the European Commission launched the Renovation Wave for Europe, intending to decarbonise the building sector through widespread renovation of buildings. This was presented with an Action Plan and SWD on available European funds, including the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
The Renovation Wave aims to double the annual renovation rate of buildings by 2030, reducing emissions and creating sustainable jobs.
What to expect
This workshop will explore the local and regional aspects of implementing the Renovation Wave, with a particular focus on the most challenging aspects, namely the renovation of private households and the heating and cooling transition.
This will focus on the development of One-Stop-Shops for building renovation, and actions for the uptake of heat pumps, which will be supported via the upcoming Heat Pump Action Plan (expected late 2023/early 2024).
