The Centro Region of Portugal is set to participate in the upcoming Cross-Border Forum of Mobility, with a dedicated session focusing on logistics innovations and sustainability. The session, scheduled for December 4th, 2024, will bring together key stakeholders to discuss the latest developments in sustainable urban logistics and the role of intermunicipal communities in enhancing regional mobility and logistics systems.

The event will begin with a welcome session, providing an opportunity for informal networking and discussions among participants.

Presentations will kick off with a session on “The State of Transport and Logistics by Intermunicipal Communities in the Central Region”, where representatives from various intermunicipal communities will share the current status and plans for improving logistics infrastructure in the region. This will include insights into the integration of sustainable practices within the logistics sector.

The focus will shift to funding mechanisms, with a presentation on “Funding Lines for the Policy Instrument of the Centro Regional Programme”. This session will outline the financial opportunities available to municipalities and regional stakeholders for the development of sustainable logistics projects.

The afternoon session will provide an opportunity for participants to discuss and collaborate on future steps.

The day will conclude with a wrap-up session, where participants will share conclusions and suggestions for the next steps. This will include recommendations to improve the management and attractiveness of sustainable urban and rural logistics projects in the region, aimed at boosting both efficiency and environmental responsibility.

The forum provides a vital platform for cross-border collaboration, bringing together local authorities, business leaders, and sustainability experts to explore how innovative logistics solutions can contribute to a greener, more efficient future for the Centro Region and beyond.
