EMBRACER getting ready for a new EoE in Vilnius!
JUDU is organising the next EMBRACER Exchange of Experience event, to be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 9 and 10 October.
The main scope of the event is "Rethinking modal integration between Public Transport and shared, connected and autonomous mobility" with a focus on the recent self-driving bus pilot launched in Vilnius.
Jonas Damidavičius, JUDU Head of Mobility Transformation, and Anton Nikitin, Vilnius Municipality representative, will welcome the participants and start the event. After that, the two new Discovery Partners who recently joined EMBRACER will be officially presented.
Then the thematic Session on "Building Sustainable Mobility Ecosystems: Urban and Rural Perspectives" will start, discussing the Vilnius public transport today and in the near future; the SUMP evolution in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari; the inspiring trip from Ireland to Portugal undertaken by Cork Transport and Mobility Forum; and how Coimbra's mobility is changing.
A Capacity Building Workshop will follow on "Reimagining Transport: Public Transport, Shared Mobility, and Autonomous Mobility solutions", focusing on public perception and safety concerns of Automated vehicles in Finland; Autonomous Driving in Leipzig; innovative way in building trust and acceptance in CCAM thanks to European projects.
And the first day will end with a nice city tour, also showing the Vilnius mobility challenges.
The second day will start with a continuation of the Capacity Building Workshop, finding out more about Intelligent Transport Systems in the Bucharest-Ilfov area; and the SUMP Preparation Phase in Slovenia. The event will continue with a joint Pilot Action Session, discussing the challenges, barriers and opportunities for implementing the pilot action in Vilnius.
The 10 October will end with the Steering Group Meeting, and a further Study Visit: EMBRACER partners will have the chance to personally test the autonomous bus circulating in Vilnius within the project pilot action.
