5th Interregional Exchange of Experience Event: Advancing Decarbonisation in the Tourism Sector

The 5th Interregional Exchange of Experience Event (EE) of the DETOCS project will take place on 21-22 May 2025 in Campobasso, Italy, at the Municipality of Campobasso Town Hall. This event will provide a platform for partners to share regional experiences and best practices on decarbonising the tourism sector in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and amid ongoing energy challenges.

The two-day event will feature dynamic discussions, workshops, and study visits focused on improving policies to support energy efficiency, sustainability, and low-carbon tourism. Participants will have the opportunity to hear from experts, exchange insights, and explore successful strategies for energy improvement in tourism infrastructure, with a particular focus on overcoming the impact of the energy crisis.

The event will culminate with a Steering Group Meeting, where participants will plan upcoming activities and future Exchange of Experience events. The event will also highlight the development of a joint thematic guidebook and include discussions on project management, reporting, and communication activities.

By bringing together key stakeholders and experts, the 5th EE event aims to drive forward the decarbonisation and sustainable transformation of the tourism industry across Europe.
