IMPETUS 3rd Interregional Policy Brokerage Event

The IMPETUS project is returning to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for a new interregional policy brokerage meeting. From the 4th to the 6th of February, the project partners coming from Italy, France, Romania, Latvia, Poland and Bosnia-Herzegovina are expected to be guests of SAGULPA (Municipal Parking Society of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, S.A) and the City Council of Las Palmas. The meeting will also be attended by stakeholders involved in the project and by Mr. José Eduardo Ramírez Hermoso, Councillor for Mobility and Employment of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. 

The three-day meeting will begin with workshops and round tables on the role of urban agencies in urban regeneration projects, focusing on sharing experiences and good practices among partners. On the second day, a study visit to ‘La Isleta’ neighbourhood will explore key local cases related to urban regeneration and temporary uses to inspire and draw bridges between local and international experiences represented in the project. The final day will include discussions with the team drafting the Culture-based Urban Development Strategy for Guanarteme-Plaza del Pilar, the public policy instrument targeted for improvement within the IMPETUS project, and an introduction to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria’s candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2031.
