IMPETUS 4th Interregional Thematic Seminar

On the 15th and 16th of April 2025, we’ll be in Lille for our 4th interregional thematic seminar, hosted by the Métropole Européenne de Lille (MEL). We'll exchange experiences and strategies on alternative financing models and mechanisms for temporary uses.

Over the course of two days, we’ll explore the Lille metropolitan area through a series of study visits that highlight how temporary uses are being integrated into local urban policies.

We’ll visit:

• Alma terrain rouge (Roubaix) – where experimentation with temporary uses is currently underway.

• La Lainière (Wattrelos) – which involves the creation of a temporary work of art on a large industrial brownfield.

• Les Manufactures Tissel (Roubaix) – a circular economy centre within a former industrial complex.

• Five Cail Babcock urban project (Lille) – a case study on how temporary uses can feed into large-scale urban regeneration.
