MINEV partners to convene in Klaipeda during Sea Festival

The MINEV Project partners will convene from 25 to 27 July in Klaipeda (Lithuania). For the first time in the history of MINEV, this meeting will coincide with the Sea Festival, offering a unique opportunity for the partners to conduct a case study on the event, where all members will act as "consultants". Additionally, the partners will participate in the Sea Festival procession.

July 25: Exchange of Good Practices workshops

Two workshops on the Exchange of Good Practices will be conducted by Ernest Kovács (ACR+):

1. Waste minimisation at the design/planning stage of a cultural event

  • Focus: Reusing or procuring/loaning used infrastructure items, temporary installations, and cooperating with local stakeholders to avoid waste after the event.
  • Case Studies:
    • Making a film festival greener! (Central Macedonia)
    • Promoting sustainable management and practices in audiovisual production through film fund, financial incentives for audiovisual productions (Krakow)
    • Sustainable Filming Seal (Malaga)
    • Robot Festival (Bologna)
    • Crinali Bologna (Bologna)
    • Artisti in Piazza – Pennabilli (Bologna)

2. Waste minimisation at the source and during the staging of the event

  • Focus: Elimination of single-use items, comprehensive waste collection systems, behavior incentives, waste plans, food planning, tracking, and optimisation. Special focus on waste streams such as tents, building materials, sleeping bags, and merchandise.
  • Case Studies:
    • Comprehensive Waste Management Strategy for Large-Scale Events in Anatolia College (Central Macedonia)
    • Sustainable solutions during large events in Klaipėda (Klaipeda)
    • Organisation of sustainable cultural events (Krakow)
    • Eureca (European Environmental Calculator) (Malaga)

July 26: Study visit and Sea Festival procession

  • Morning: Study visit to Klaipėda Old Town and Maritime Museum
  • Afternoon: Participation in the Sea Festival procession by the project partners

July 27: Exchange of good practices and demonstrations

  • Focus: Communication campaigns, awareness-raising campaigns, visual solutions, signage, and similar study cases. Demonstration of the collection of packaging waste from festive market traders to project partners.
  • Activity: Study visit to KRWMC sustainability education at the Celebration of the Sea events
